What to expect from your Hammam & Gommage treatment at Saffron Day Spa & Salon
1. Open Pores
Begin your treatment with a 10-min steam, which is an integral part of a Hammam, it allows your pores to fully open and remove toxins.
2. Prepare Skin
Your therapist will cover you with a black Moroccan soap, which is a 100% natural olive based pulp made in Morocco. Suitable for every type of skin and is used to prepare the skin for exfoliation.
Another 5-min of steam before your therapist rinses off the black soap and begins to exfoliate your skin to remove dead skin cells and purify pores using a “kessa” (a special kind of loofah glove).
The body is rinsed with warm water followed by the Moroccan or “Ghassoul” Clay Masque, which is an additional service.
5. Close Pores
After exiting the steam room, argan oil, which is a great natural moisturizer, high in vitamin E and fatty acids is applied on the body, followed by an express 10-min massage to further relive stress and close the pores.
The therapist will then serve you herbal tea, fruits and dates as you relax in one of our private en suite treatment rooms for 15-min.
Enjoy! your rejuvenated, silky smooth and cleaner-than-ever skin.

Moroccan “Ghassoul” Clay Masque
Ghassoul (pronounced rassoul) is a mineral only found in the beds beneath the Moroccan Atlas Mountains. It's 100 percent organic, hypoallergenic, and jam-packed with magnesium, calcium, and potassium. When mixed with floral water and applied to the skin, ghassoul absorbs excess grease and eliminates impurities deep down. It is normally performed during the Hammam & Gommage ritual, after exfoliation to help it reach even deeper into the skin. The clay is applied and left to firm on the body while you steam. The whole treatment lasts 30-min.
